Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American author, syndicated journalist and a businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. She was the first student non-UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she became an independent candidate in the California recall vote to replace the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of an Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their Top 100 list in 2010. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. Her life was shaped by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her dad, even though she was very close to the latter. At a young age, she displayed the leadership abilities for which she's still known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's college debating societies where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and as a host on television. In addition, she was a part of the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from Bernard Levin.
