Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. It was possible for her to recruit several prominent contributors who posted their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna gained fame after she decided to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. In addition, she led the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. This included many AOL products at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. She moved to England at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and a television host. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books with his guidance for editing.
