Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family and community service. He is the youngest child of Lucious Selmon and Jessie Semon. They had him raised on their farm in Eufala. Another reason for his football career was that his father was the only of three brothers to play for Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in across the country. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. Also, they won 2 national titles. Selmon was honored when the National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Fourth year of college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Then he settled in Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and made three times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988, while working as an account relations officer at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 youths in the US. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he became the assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
